Paty of strange friend

Woke up at 10 today felt so hungry but too lazy to go out and get something to eat. So I turned on my computer and started to play Warcraft III one of my favorite games. I looked at the clock its 12 o’clock I thought times gone so fast because it fun that why I felt like that. So I went to Siridij’s room which is right next to my room to wake him up. Yesterday he asked me to wake him up at 11.30 but I was playing game so I forgot. I woke him up and came back to my room and continue with my game because he wasn’t ready to go out yet. After he ready, we went out to eat something for lunch, I could not remember what it was then we went to ‘A cut above’ a barber near our university not far from L building. I told the hairdresser that I want my hair as similar as Rain (Korean star) he is the main character in the movie call ‘Full House’. The reason I decided to do is because three of my friends already done it and they want me to do the same, so I did. I was not sure if it going to look good on me. But after about one hour an a half its finish, I think its look alright. Then I went back to my room get change and go to ABAC Bangna campus because there is an ALSA’s welcome party for delegates from other country. ALSA stand for Asian Law Student Association. This time the conference takes place in Thailand. I was already late because I should meet everyone at 3:30 and the bus will leave at 4 o’clock. I finish hair cut at ten pass four so they gone without me. -_- I was lucky that some of the senior did not go yet and they got a car! So I do not need to catch the bus. We arrived there at about 5 o’clock enough time for me to learn what I got to do when delegates arrive at 6 o’clock. I got to take cares delegates from Singapore. After the opening speech, dinner and Thai traditional dance show, we separate delegate in to 12 groups. Ying and I look after group 5. The reason we separated them in to 12 groups, we will get on a little bus to go around ABAC Bangna campus and there were only 2 buses. So group 1-6 go first and 7-12 played some games. I could not remember everyone who was in my group and where they came from but I remembered one chick. Her name is Hwa Yoon from Korea. She is talkative and I think she’s cute. ^^ Ah! Also I remember a guy from Malaysia but could not remember his name. Anyway he gave me his name card so I can look it up later and I will keep in touch with him. It is good to know some law students from other country because we might need help from each other in the future.

My student life

Hello, diary I haven’t talk to you for a week. I miss you a lot. Everything was alright. This week there was nothing much like a week before. On Monday I left home at 11.30 because I have English III class at 14 o’clock. After class I went to have lunch and played game. I think I should stop play game because the final exam is coming. And I got a lot to catch up. I think it’s time for me to study hard, I know it’s quite late to start to study for exam now but better don’t do it now. Isn’t it?
On Tuesday I got Science-man class at 8 o’clock and English III at 14 o’clock. After finish English III class I drove home. On Wednesday I actually didn’t have class but I joined other section. The class finished at 5pm. I have to wait for my cousin. She was with her friends I knew that she want to spend as long as she can with her friends because she’ll go back to Sydney on Thursday. So we got home at about 9 o’clock. My mother was quite worried because she doesn’t like when I’m driving in the dark. I think I’m good enough. Anyway I knew she doesn’t want an accident to happen.
On Thursday is the best day for this week. I went to have dinner with my old friends. It was Pitch’s birthday, he is one of my best friends. I also met few of old friends which I haven’t seen them for years. Some of them I haven’t seen since I left my school to Sydney. The place I went is near Kasat University after we finish our dinner we had a little surprise for Pitch. Our surprise was just a birthday cake but I’m sure that he will never forget about it. After we finish some friends and I went to We-Za pub in Eakamai Pitch didn’t go with us because he was sick. We get there at about 11 pm. We order 2 bottles of Red-label cost us 1,500 Bath. We have 7 people including me. I’m sure that 1 bottle would be enough we could drink 2 but all of us will be so drunk. We order 2 because 1 bottle is 900 Bath if we order 2 will be cheaper. After a wile I went to sit out site alone because I pub is not the place I love to go. At about quarter to two my friend come and calls me to go back. After we got in the car I just found out that one of my friend got drunk. She was so drunk and keep telling us that she don’t want to go back. But we took her back to her room and we were going to left her there but she didn’t sleep and to drunk to be left alone. So we have to look after her until at about 6 she slept. All of us were so tired and sleepy so we slept there.
Ah, I have to go now. Its dinner times and my mother call me already. I will tell you what happen after that next week. See you next week.
Bye………..

Thaksin.....

I don't like Thaksin!!

So, I think impartially that the clue behaves to inappropriate sui. Today I reads news about Thaksin avoidance flees to go out outside the country.

The statement of Thaksin Shinawatra from London feared for safety of their lives and assets. The latter part of his statement that there had been an intervention in the court and that he could not be provided with justice.

According from the statement, In my opinion, the asylum of Thaksin Shinawatra that he said he need the safety for his family and his lives. I think he can do that because article 14(1) of Universal Declaration of Human Rights that is everyone has the right to seek and enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution. When Thaksin Shinawatra travels he used bullet-poof cars because someone alleged assassination plot against him. He needs the safety so he can asylum.

The extradition I think he must come to Thailand because he was guilty and get punishment.

I think about the Thai justice system that statement of Thaksin Shinawatra said about Thai justice system I think that I disagree with him because he can fight the case. The people can get equal right in every place in the world. So he should be come to court.

In conclusion, I agree with asylum because the safety and I disagree with statement of the Thai justice system that he said.

My holiday

Today I woke-up at 8 o’clock, still early for me -_- but my mother woke me up. So I slept 10 more minutes and quickly get up before my mom come again and she might get angry. As we having breakfast my aunty ask me to go out with them. By the way I forgot to tell you that my aunty-Ying, uncle-Au, and cousin-June came yesterday night. Because my cousin going back to Sydney on Thursday. After we had a shower we then go out at about half pass ten. We went to Bangpoo, Samutparkarn which is not far from Bangkok. We went to one of the restaurant in Bangpoo. This restaurant built on the sea and beside the bridge to the restaurant there were lots of seagulls. So we bough a chicken and fed them, I was so hungry so I ate one and I test like shi... After fed the bird we then walk to restaurant to have lunch. I ate a lot and of course we only order seafood. We order jellyfish, crab etc. They were nice I enjoyed my lunch. After such a good lunch we went to “Ancient City”. Seriously I never know this place before. This place has copied many ancient buildings and temples all in Thailand and re-built them in a smaller version. All buildings actually exist all across Thailand from north, west, east and south. Any if you think they are very small and not bigger than car. You are wrong mate!!! They are big enough for us to walk inside I will put some photos for you when I have time. The place also has a historic museum which has an ancient village. I the village they sell a lots of old things that hard to find nowadays. I use my mobile phone took lots of photos because I didn’t bring my digital camera. You know why? It’s run out of battery that why. Man the place is so huge man. I can tell you that I will not walk in there for sure. If you don’t catch their bus, hire a bicycle or a golf-car you won’t be able to go to every place in there. Golf-car looks like a good option but its cost 200 bath/hour. And they say we need about 2-3 hours to see every thing. Drive your car is the best way, you only have to pay them 50 Bath. So we drove in and stop at the place we like. At one of the village we went, I bough some candy that I haven’t seen for a long time. We stayed in “Ancient City” until 4 o’clock then we left. After got home, had dinner and here I am sitting in front of my computer telling you all these things. I think it’s bed time for me now.

Stop Legal Casinos

The new government in Thailand wants to make casinos to be legal in Thailand because it is argued to be good for the economy. However, there is further proof with numerous social problems as well. The legal casinos will cause more people to be in debt. People who never gambled will think that it is now legal, so they should try once. After that, people will find it is hard to stop gambling then need more and more money to gamble. From ABAC poll, the survey of 2726 people, 54.6% of them said no to the legal casinos. The result is clearly confirmed that most people disagree with the government’s decision because it will make Thai people face the bad consequences of gambling. The effects on gamblers, their family, and Thai society are the main reasons why the Thai government should not legalize casinos.

Initially, gambling causes gamblers to get bad results. They spend a lot of or all of their money to gamble instead of saving money for more important things such as health and medical insurance, and many people will end up with mass debts, which cause many people to commit suicide because they feel so depressed and cannot find the way out. Moreover, gambling obstructs gamblers’ career growth. Gambling addicts will spend less time at work that causes their performances drop and end up fire from their jobs. In stead of doing good jobs, the government will encourage people in Thailand to be unemployed, go deeply into the unpredictable gambling, and make people to rely on their luck to be wealthy instead of doing hard work. In addition, young people who like to gamble might skip classes to go gambling that causes their school grades to drop or do not want to go to schools forever. It is the serious problem because young people are the important powers to develop the country in the future. From a survey of 1,700 students from six different colleges and universities in England, 33% of males and 15% of females in college gamble at least once a week. In addition, gambling can cause people to have bad mental health. Their self-esteem and mood depend on the results of gambling. If they win, they will be happy. It they lose, they will have bad mood and feel stressed that can also cause gamblers to have bad physical health.
Secondly, gambling causes people to destroy their own family. Gambling addicts only pay attention on gambling and spend most of their time at casinos, ignoring their family. They do not be interested in their children’s problems and care that their behavior is ruining their family’s life. These behaviors will cause more people to divorce, which can make their children to have sadness in their mind and might become social problems. In addition, when gamblers do not have enough money to bet, they argue and hurt their family. For example, a husband needs money to gamble, but his wife refuse to give him because she wants to keep this amount of money for her children’s education. Therefore, the husband hits and hurts his wife in forcing her to give him money. In addition, students who are gambling addicts might steal money from their parents, and this behavior make these young people to be a theft in the future.
Lastly, gambling causes Thailand to have more social problems. When people do not have enough money to gamble or pay debts, they end up with silly decisions, illegal acts. Some of them decide to steal others’ property. According to a 1990 Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene survey, nearly 400 members of Gambler’s Anonymous showed that 57 percent admitted stealing to finance their gambling. Moreover, the amounts are not small. On average they stole $135,000, and total theft was over $30 million. Moreover, some of them might become criminals and rapists that cause many following problems for Thai society. In addition, most people in Thailand are Buddhists. Legalizing casinos encourages people to break religious rules, and it means that Thai people deteriorate their own religion.
In conclusion, the Thai government should think further about the following problems of gambling that Thai people will face in the future. Making casinos legal in Thailand is not a good decision to do because there are other ways to help develop the economy in the country. Thailand can have a good economic development if the government administrates their works very well, not to legalize casinos.

The Different Solutions between Japan and Singapore

Japan and Singapore are two of the most well-known countries in Asia. As the reputation of these two countries, there are various nationalities of people who come and invest in these countries. As a result, pollution is an inevitable problem to people because the faster the industrial growth increases, the higher the pollution people get. The main factors that cause pollution are generally automobiles, power plants, and factories. Although Japan and Singapore are dissimilar in terms of solving air pollution and noise pollution, but they share one major similarity which is the solutions for water pollution.
The first noticeable difference in solving air pollution between Japan and Singapore is the way they solve the problem. Japan is clearly seen that the government will tend to concentrate mainly on stationary sources. Firstly, the Japanese government starts to control emission standards for factories. To begin with, factories, power plants, and incinerators are enforced to set up smokestack scrubbers, electrostatic precipitators, and other filters in order to reduce the amount of pollution released into the atmosphere. In addition, factories will be given penalties if they do not follow the rules or fail with air quality standards. At the same time, the Japanese government will use energy sources and various types of transportation engines which are empowered by electricity and steam. Moreover, they will also get rid of fossil fuels and the internal-combustion engines which are the main factors of causing air pollution (Solutions to Air Pollution, 2007). On the other hand, Singapore’s solutions are completely different from Japan as the government of Singapore focuses directly on urban traffic congestion due to its rapid industrial growth. To decline this problem, the government of Singapore has got four new policies. Firstly, people who want to purchase motor vehicles have to pay higher taxes. Secondly, public transportation will be modernized in order to encourage its use. Thirdly, the Singapore’s roads will be enhanced. Finally, an area licensing policy will be entered to force. The details in the policy are mentioned that only cars showing a license are allowed to pass the central business districts from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. However, buses, service vehicles, carpools with four or more people, and taxes will not be included (Air Pollution/Transportation, n.d.). As a result, vehicles causing air pollution will be reduced. As you can see, Japan will mostly control air pollution by regulating emission of stationary sources and using energy sources, whereas in Singapore, the government tends to alleviate urban traffic congestion.
Solving noise pollution is the second remarkable difference between Japan and Singapore. Japan has continuously faced an increasing number of vehicles, and mufflers of some vehicles are changed, so this will lead to noise pollution. As the fact above, the Japanese government has set three motor vehicle noise regulations which are accelerated running, steady running, and exhaust proximity. Firstly, for passenger cars with no more than ten people, accelerated running has to be 76 dB, steady running has to be 72 dB, and exhaust proximity has to be 96 dB. Secondly, for motorcycles, accelerated running has to be 73 dB, steady running has to be 72 dB, and exhaust proximity has to be 94 dB (Tightening of Measures Against Motor Vehicle Exhaust Noise Pollution in Japan, 2007). However, the solutions of Singapore are totally different from the solutions of Japan. Due to the development of technology and urbanization in Singapore, the main factors of causing noise pollution are normally vehicular traffic, the mass rail transit system (MRT), and the light rail transit system (LRT). In order to manage this problem, the Singapore government has four policies. Firstly, the government will construct buildings as obstacles between expressways and residents to minimze noise levels (Commuting sustainably, nd.). Secondly, the government will limit noise emission standards for vehicles. For example, a noise emission standard for the MRT trains is 86 dB at a speed of 80 km/h (Environment, Energy, and Resources, 2003). Thirdly, Singapore’s expressways will be constructed by using porous asphalt. Finally, the MRT trains will use noise-damped rail tracks and wheels while the LRT trains will be set up rubber wheels, and both of them will be operated on concrete tracks (Commuting sustainably, nd.). As you can see, the ways Japan and Singapore solve noise pollution are entirely different.
However, both Japan and Singapore share one similarity in solving water pollution. Japan has suffered polluted rivers due to its rapid industrail growth. Therefore, the government decides to build water catchment for water supply. In addition, the government prescribes every factories to use and store chemicals away from water catchment areas in order to prevent chemicals to blend in the water. Like Japan, the solution of Singapore is to build water catchment. Polluted rivers are the main problem that Singapore has been facing for a long time because of various commercial, industrial, hawking, and farming activities. To handle this problem, the government of Singapore will firstly build sewerage systems in order to collect rainwater. Also, these systems can also prevent water from being contaminated by dangerous and deleterious chemicals. Secondly, rainwater will be gathered and sent to drains, canals, and 14 reservoirs including others in the urban and built-up areas for consumption. As a result, there is approximately half of Singapore where it is currently water catchment (Singapore International Water Week, 2007). As you can see, with regard to water catchment, the solutions of Japan and Singapore are quite similar.
In conclusion, although Japan and Singapore are different in terms of solving air pllution and noise pollution, they share one major similarity in terms of solving water pollution. However, both Japan and Singapore provide a lot of benefits to all their residents, so I think that the solutions of both countries are suitable for Thailand if our country adapts and uses systematically.

A Life Lesson

It started when my father was eighteen years old. He had just graduated from a well-known high school, and he became a university student. When he stepped into the university, he felt very excited because everything was new. He did not know anybody because his friends had studied at the different university.
When he attended his first class which was mathematics, he chose to sit in front of the room. He wanted to focus directly on what teacher taught because he knew that studying at university would be more difficult than studying at high school. In the class, he made friends with the person who sat beside him. “Hello, what is your name?” my father said. “My name is Somchai, and you?” he replied. “My name is Pui” my father answered. My father was a person who found it easy to get along well with other people in a very short time, so he and Somchai had a good relationship together and became very close easily.
On the next day, Somchai brought his new friend whose name is Vorapop to introduce to my father. “Sawaddee Kub! My nickname is Pom” Vorapop said. Somchai told my father that his friend came from Phuket; so remarkably, his accent would not be clear and similar to Bangkok citizens. He was extremely short like a dwarf and had curly short hair. His eyebrows were very thick, and his lips looked very tough. He had a big nose as well as his eyes, and all of these made him look like a bull.
Because of his hideous appearance, other people seemed to avoid being near him. Therefore, he barely had friends. Anyway, he tried to made friends, but no one wanted to talk to him.
When Pom was studying in the class, most of the students tried to pick on him all the time. Some students threw rubbish to his head when the teacher turned his face to the blackboard. Some people wrote rude phrases on the paper and pasted at his back such as “Kick for free!”, “Am I handsome?”, and “I am gay!” Sometimes, he was badly threatened for money, and if he did not give it, he would get hurt. It could be said that, to us, he was merely a joker of the room at that time.
Not only was he picked on so hard in the class, but he was also teased outside the class. When he had lunch, he did not have any accompanies to enjoy the meal with. He was always left out to eat alone. As a result, when he had problems, he was unable to consult with anybody because his existence meant nothing to other students; no one would be caring if he was alive or not.
One day during the trimester, my father had to attend football club after finishing his mathematics class at 5 o’ clock, so he had to go home late. Unfortunately, after finishing his club, it was around 8 o’ clock. He realized that he forgot his car keys, and he did not know exactly where it was. He tried to find it everywhere. Finally, he found it in the locker of football club. When he stepped out of the room, he found that no one was there, so he drove back home alone.
At that time, there was a heavy rain, and he was away from the university around three kilometers. Suddenly, my father’s car was stopped, and he thought that the fuel was run out. Also, there was no gas station around there, so he did not know how to revive his car into life.
During that time, there were no cell phones, so it was quite difficult to contact other people when help is needed. While heavy rain was falling, there was nobody around there. It was around 10 o’ clock as he took a look at my watch and thought that his parents had to be so worried because he did not arrive at home. The only thing that he could do was just to wait for the rain to stop or, if he was lucky enough, help would come to him very soon.
Surprisingly, he was not yet short of luck because, thirty minutes later, there was a man who walked along this way with a pale red hundred-year-old-like umbrella in his hand. That man seemed short and very as similar as the joker in his class. “It is him.” He said while the rain was still washing the earth.
“Can I help?” Pom asked me if he could be any help. “Yes, my car was suddenly dead, and I do not know what to do.” My father replied. My father was wondering if it would be Pom’s payback time or not. Suddenly he answered “Well, let me see your car engine.” So, I walked to my car and showed him a car engine. “Oh man! It is just overheating, but actually you just need it to be cooled down, and your car will come to life again soon.” After that, he just walked away without hearing my father’s “Thank you”. So he stayed silent and said nothing but “Thank you” was echoing in his mind.
On the day later, my father hurried to come to the university. He told the entire story that he had met last night with his friends. “Really” some of the students replied. From now on, Pom who had ever been lonely now got a lot of friends. He had a good relationship with my father as well as the other students.
My father learned from this experience that sometimes the person who you expect to kick will be the one to help you get back. He taught me that I should look beyond the appearance.

Valentine Day

There are more things I want to talk about. It is about Valentine Day, the day of love . This Valentine was the best valentine ever in my life because I never have girlfriend. Two years ago I got along with one girl but I couldn’t say she is my girlfriend because she had a boyfriend . And now I will tell you why this Valentine is the best Valentine in my life. I fall in love with a girl from same faculty. So she always helping me I want to say some thing to her. By listening, you are saying to me I am loved enough for you to put your business aside and give me your complete attention. You will comfort me with a nod. a touch. a smile. our eye contact is like a warm safe blanket eveloping me with a mother is embrace. by just being there. Sometime my problem is small.
Sometime things are too much handle alone.
Sometime I just want to scream out loudly with anger or despair. or cry when everything seems to be tumbling down. nothing make sence.
And feeling this way make me lonely.
But you are here and I feel stronger. With all the noise in the world, silence has more value than any word.

I am not alone.

Thankyou......

Lotus.....

An old teacher stood looking at a swamp. In the swamp with all mud and muck grew large white lotuses. The old teacher want to pluck a lotus to make an offering to the temple.

She wanted the perfect lotus. And she searched, But this one was bent at the stem
That one was too small in size
This one was too crooked in shape.
That one had bitten jaw mark.
She could not find the perfect one. It did not exist.

An old monk was looking at old teacher looking at the lotus. And he said to her, “Do none of the lotus please you?”

No, she said, I want the perfect one. I always had high standard so my work is always so difficult and never done.

The old teacher lived her life this way with out any peace of mind or lightness of heart.

Life is filled with flaws. Searching for flaws she found flaws. Her life was constant cycle of frustration. But still, she held on to her standard.
“Teacher, I am going to predict your future,” Old monk said.
“You’ve never been married and you probably never will. You never had any close friends and you will continue to wait.

The old teacher was stunned, “How can you know?” It was not too difficult to know she had a lonely life, waiting for the perfect person to come and the best friend to enter her life.

They never did.
They never existed.
She should have known.

She began to cry and ask the old monk to help her. The old monk pointed to random lotus and told her to take it home and search for its goodness.
When she finds it she will begin to awaken.
If she does not /she will continue to sleep.

The Frog story

When I was young, I remember some story. Maybe 10 year ago a buddhist monk and I were sitting together under a tree on the temple ground. I was young and he was wise. With my youth come a lot of curiosity and so I ask him.

“What happen when we die?”
“Do we have a soul and where does it go?”
“Is a heaven?”
“And is it on top of cloud in the sky?”

The monk look at me with a serene smile and told me this story……..

Once there was a pond. A pond, like every pond, small but filled with life. In the small body of water lived a tadpole who had a curiosity just like you. One day this tadpole swam up next to a frog that just jump in.

“What is it like up there?” the tadpole ask the frog. Out there, out of this water, is a different world.” The frog told.

Is it bigger than in here? The tadpole ask. Yes, out there it is vest and large, a million time bigger. Bigger than you can ever imagine. Is that possible? The tadpole did not under stand. What is out there that is different ?

Out there, the air is light and wind is soft. The bird sings and flies and the dragonfly passes by.

The tadpole did not understand.
What is air?
What is bird?
What is wind?
?????????????????

The Frog try to explain that air was not wet like the water in the pond. The tadpole, who whole existence had been in water, his only world, did not understand what the frog saying.

What is dry?
What is Cloud?
And how does it pass by?

There is no way a frog can explain to a tadpole what another world is like. The frog, before he jump out of the pond said “One day………may be you will understand”

And if the tadpole survives life in the pond and does not be come fish food first, the tadpole will change and grown and turn into a frog and when that day come the tadpole will understand.

I am a tadpole trying to survive life in a pond.
One day I will understand………..
But I am wonder about monk is he a frog ????????

The benefits of working overseas

There are many people who decide to go abroad for their career. Some families not only travel together but choose to stay in a foreign country and raise their kids. Businesses can be a part of why they choose to go overseas. Therefore, this essay will illustrate some benefits of working overseas.
The first benefit is life experience about working while studying. It was my last term of high school, and we had a leaver’s party in our form. Everyone was having such a fantastic time; the reasons why I noticed was the laugher and their facial expressions. The enjoyment of eating, dancing and singing spread around the hall. Then, my friend got picked to go up on the stage and make a speech. At that time silent filled up the space. She explained how she enjoyed the school very much and how she will definitely miss her classmates. In her speech she mentioned her part time job. I listened carefully and learned a lot about her experience. Noriko glanced around to make eye contact with the audience. I must admit that she was a good speaker because she got everyone’s attention. While Noriko was talking I could see how proud she was at that time of her life. She carried on with her talk and she told everyone that when she first arrived in Christchurch, New Zealand her English was really poor, but as time went by it slowly got better. Indeed, her part time job had helped her to improve her English the most. She worked in Riccarton Mall, which was not very far from our school. By bus it took her only three bus-stops to get there. The place is called “Whitcoulle”. It’s a book & stationery store, which is where she started her new experience and memories. She gained more confidence after she had worked there. She had a chance to improve her English everyday with the native speakers. She learned from all those books and things in the shop. Customers would ask for directions and that’ her task to answer them. The environment of a warm friendship she got at work and the skill she now had. Not only has that but her general knowledge also increased. She now recognized the buyer’s type of books by the buyer’s age. She wouldn’t have any problem about giving a wrong recommendation to buyers. Noriko had to communicate with many people each day. Her work helped her in her daily school life. She tended to work harder at school because she knew that it wouldn’t be fair to her parents if she didn’t take an interest in it (H.Noriko, personal , December 2005) They worked very hard to support her this far with education. Noriko knew that money is not easy to find after all. Even though she used to spend a lot of money on unnecessary stuff, but not anymore. She knew how tiring work cause so she appreciated her parents whoa re in Japan more.
The second benefit is working condition. All the Thai students would gather round and eat at a Thai restaurant. Since we all missed Thai food while we were overseas. There were numbers of Thai restaurants around the city. I saw people walk in and out of those places all the time. After my friends and I went there and eat. I got close to the owner and I remember how kind and friendly she was to us. She often gave a discount to many Thai students. We loved to go and eat there, almost every weekend actually. As she seemed so happy owning the restaurant, my friend asked her “What was her purpose of opening”. She told us that she found herself more comfortable working there than Thailand. As we all know, that business is all about profit but that’s not what really she was looking for. She enjoyed many things there, such as the working hours, public holidays, working shift, and days off. She didn’t worry about a high income; her concentration was only enjoyment of cooking. She would have more competitors and doesn’t have enough freedom. She wasn’t married, which made us wonder how she survived alone with her workers? The prices of the ingredients and the food might be higher than in Thailand, but when you really think about it, the expenditures here are much more. She found a good spot that would bring her happiness. She hated the traffic in Thailand and the cost of traveling to work was such a pain. For example, the costs of running the business become expensive in long term. The prices of petrol and gas were rising each year and the expense become higher. There was no obstacle in New Zealand because the transportation is much better. She could use her time effectively and manage her schedule much better. Christchurch is very small; therefore, not many Thai restaurants are available. There were a few restaurants that sold Thai food, so she felt as she’s having control of the business without trouble. Fewer choices for customers to choose from and that’s when the percentage of people who choose her restaurant become higher.
The third benefit is cultural learning of the common way they survived. I went and study in New Zealand when I was eleven and I stayed there for four and a half years. I learnt many different new things, and basically I spent my early teenage years there. It was fun, but I must say that there is no place that feels like home. There were some strict rules in New Zealand unlike Thailand, where bad people get away so easily. I must have a guardian because I was underage and his job was to take care of me but his position is different from a home stay. He only took part in school life and continually connects to Thai’s students in different school. If there a meeting at school, he would be the one who represented my parents. He’s pure Thai and had two daughters; they both are younger than me. His wife is half Thai and Malay, they had a nice house and the two girls were just like New Zealanders. He tried to convince me to do my university studies there but I missed home and wanted to be with my family and friends. From the first meal I had with his family I knew straight away about how they learnt and take Kiwi tradition. They have a very friendly greeting, their choices with food and religion. His family and him have accepted the new culture and learnt how to work and survive from different country where they were born (Jareonchai personal conversation,September 2005).

In conclusion, working overseas is not easy for everyone. People get to explore the new challenge and the nature environment around them. They must adapt to the culture and tradition to be able to work well with others. Many changes to the working system, living styles and hours. Working overseas benefits and gained a life time experience and memories to keep in hand carrying on with their life further in the long run.

A Life Lesson......

Happy birthday celebration is very popular among people especially teenagers. This type of celebration usually comes up with alcohol parties. Nowadays, most teenagers always think that they are mature enough to drink alcohol, and some of them may think that they can control themselves even though they get massive amount of alcohol. In fact, the ways they think seem wrong and probably cause and lead to many detrimental effects such as unconsciousness, getting
hurt, and so on.

All of my friends and I lived at Panasin which was located at the cross of the university, so I found it easy to get along well with them in a very short time. We spent time together, and that made us become closer. On Desember 10th, it was my friend’s birthday whose name is Toey, and she told us that she was going to set the birthday party at Vintage Pub, but her birthday was on Saturday, so most of us had to go back homes and could not go to the party. Therefore, we agreed that the celebration had to be postponed to Wednesday night.
In the evening of Wednesday, Pong, Perth, Pao, Mix, Ploi, Tle, and I planed to buy some gifts, and surprised her at 12.00 a.m. When the time we had an appointment had arrived, we all entered the pub. Inside, there were many people drinking and dancing, and that meant we were too late because every table and seat was already reserved, so we did not have any choices. Where we got was just the small circular table which was surrounded by a few small wooden chairs.
We ordered two Red Label bottles and some mixtures. At first, we all just drank a little bit and danced around. However, the time was passing rapidly, and we seemed drunk. Without consciousness, people talked and made friends with each other easily. I and my friends – Pong, Pao, and Perth were still conscious as we got a little drunk, and we thought that it was adequate. Before we came, we had already guessed that somebody were going to get drunk, and that meant we had to take care of them.
A few minutes later, mixtures were run out, but somebody remained drinking only pure alcohol. However, Mix seemed to drink a lot more than the others; almost one bottle. He began being out of control. We tried to stop him from drinking, but he did not listen to anybody. Not only did Mix get drunk, but Ploi, Tle, and Toey also seemed to be the same as him. At this time, I and my friends – Pong and Perth had to get them back to the dormitory. Because they were only three girls that came with us, we could not let them stay alone. During that time, we were in great confusion and did not know how to manipulate them. Then we decided that taking the girls would be easier than the boys. Anyway, it was not as easy as we expected. Ploi was more talkative. Tle danced around and joined with other people who we have never known. Toey who we thought she was the most polite girl was the hardest one to control. She went out of the pub and tried to climb onto the boxes which were set beside the enter door, and she told that she could fly. When she was on the top of the box, she jumped out and quickly fell down. Unsurprisingly, she got hurt, so I had to take her to the car.
Inside the pub, the confusion became more violent. Some people broke the glasses, and pieces of them were widely spread all over the floor. Tle who was being drunk stepped on those pieces unconsciously. She instantly screamed, so I hurried to take her to the car and recovered her wound. We could now relieve for a while because there was only one girl left which was Ploi, but this one was easier to take than Tle and Toey. We took a few minutes to manage her. Later on, all of the three girls were taken to their rooms.
However, that night was not over yet. When we finished helping the three girls, we walked into the pub again in order to call the others back to our rooms, but what we saw was unexpected. Mix was lying on the floor, and he could not control himself because his two legs did not have any power. I, Pong, Pao, and Perth tried to keep him from falling, but he still could not stand at all. Although there were four people who were propping him, carrying Mix was still difficult because his weight was almost 65 kilograms. In addition, he threw up all the way he walked past, so we decided to leave Mix at Pong’s room because there was Pong’s brother who was obviously conscious and could take care of him better than us. When we reached the room, we took him into the toilet because he remained throwing up. A few minutes later, a stinky odor of Mix’s vomit was spread all over the room, and we could not take a rest at all, so we decided to move to another room. While we were sleeping, Pao suddenly realized that his mobile phone was in Pong’s room, and he had to use it to phone his mother. I accompanied Pao. When we entered the room, what we saw was very terrible. Mix was lying on the floor of the toilet, covered with his vomit, bulging eyes, and his body began shaking. His heart was getting fast and fast, and he shouted that he was extremely cold. I and Pao immediately phoned the others, and we hurried to take him to the nearest hospital which was Salaya. Mix had to attend the emergency room. We just hoped that he would be alright. Five minutes later, the doctor came out and told that he was out of danger. Noon later, Mix woke up and told us that he did not know what he had done last night. This is our horrible experience that we will never forget. We almost lose a friend just because of alcohol.

My Science Group

Last week, I went to fish pier to research my science man project. We used taxi to go there in morning maybe 6.00 am. So we research by talk with people in society and check people quality life ><. The conclusion of this activity is that we are all knows about cause of bad smell pollution. Some of bad smell come from fishy smell from fish pier. That smell is a cause of communicable disease to people in society because the garbage from fish pier is a source of disease germs. So it’s not only about air pollution some information from people in society they don’t want to see more garbage from fish pier it’s a source of vision pollution.
